Choose trying to reach a specific website and put in a URL it won't open to trace the reason. Right click the network icon in System Tray at bottom right end of task bar to Troubleshoot Problems. Run the fixit from (Re-enable IPv6 on all nontunnel interfaces) and reboot. Go to Device Manager > Network Adapters, select network adapter in use, click on the Power Management tab, clear the check box to "Allow the computer to turn off the device to save energy." If this was caused by Version update then you can roll it back in Settings>Update & Security>Recovery and then hide it until it matures using the Hide Updates Tool.įor Wifi won't connect after Version 1903: You can also use System Restore to get before the problem began, then check for Updates with the Hide Update tool and hide them.
If this was caused by Windows Updates then you can check which were installed at Settings>Update & Security>Windows Update under Installed Updates, then uninstall them from the link there, and hide with the Hide Updates tool downloaded from here.
Try also all older drivers from Update Driver > Browse > Let Me Pick list working backwards. If you have the latest network driver then try on it's Driver tab also to Roll Back, or Uninstall and then restart PC to reinstall the driver.
Make sure you have the latest BIOS or UEFI firmware, Chipset, Display (Video), Sound, USB3, Bluetooth, Network and all other drivers, or else download and install the latest now. Compare the latest drivers available for download with the ones presently installed in Device Manager reached by right clicking the Start Menu.
Update your network adapter drivers from the PC maker's Support Downloads web page using the full model number, HP Serial Number or Dell Service Tag on sticker. Even if you've tried some of these steps already please do them over in sequence to see if it makes as difference: I'll give you everything to go over your internet connection so that at least something will work. Set the preferred browser as Default in Settings > Apps > Default Apps. It's easy to share bookmarks between all of them in their settings under Import Favorites from another Browser, and Firefox and Chrome let you sign in to save and/or sync your Favorites on any other device you sign into. I use Firefox, Edge and Chrome in that order of preference. I would have several browsers on your task bar so there's always one that's best for the task. However there are reports that new Edge can no longer be blocked, so you may want to proactively install it side-by-side with the old Edge to preserve it:
See if you can System Restore to a point before the problem began following this guide. You may still be able to go back to old Edge. You can reset new Edge in Edge Settings > Reset Settings for old Edge in Settings > Apps > Apps and Features, scroll down to Microsoft Edge, highlight it, choose Advanced Options, then Repair, or if that fails, Reset. If you can't reach Edge you can install the tiny app Manage Edge Favorites here: to do this, which also gives Edge all of the Favorites Management enjoyed in Internet Explorer. Back up your Favorites first in Edge Hub (three dots top right of browser) > Favorites > Manage Favorites > Export to file.
